Workshop [Open Level] - Here(s): Improvisation as Method for Researching Place - Katie Schetlick

Here(s) is both a movement framework and an embodied research method for investigating a broad array of pre-existing choreographies. Through four phases--tuning, noticing, moving, and reflecting--participants expand their awareness of the ways we are called to participate in complex and intersecting relationships with the environs and fellow inhabitants (human and the more-than-human). Over the course of this 2 hour workshop, we will engage in a set of structured scores and critical questions that move between studio and outdoor spaces in order to consider how our environs and designated dance spaces traverse and inform one another through their influence on the dancing body. The practice and emergent structures of Here(s) is a collaborative project with fellow dance artists Zena Bibler and Brandin Steffensen. Instructor: Katie Schetlick (Bio)

Katie is generously waiving her teaching fees for this workshop, however pre-registration is still required. Register for free and you can elect to make a donation in the amount of your choice.
