This class will include a mix of various modern techniques. There will be a specific focus on moving from the core of the body and finding groundedness in each dancer's movement. We will begin each class with choreographed sequences to prepare the body for each class and the intended style of movement. Classes will also occasionally include movement exploration through improvisation as a way to encourage each dancer to find movements that feel most at home in their body. Katy provides an environment in her classes where each dancer feels fulfilled in their movement practices and enjoys the individuality of the way their bodies can move.

Under the Mistletoe: We'll be pulling a little Christmas Nonsense by channeling our inner current queen of sass- Sabrina Carpenter. Modern Day Rockettes: A fun twist on the classic Rockettes choreography and style with a little bit of the Krista Pizazz. This 90 min workshop will include some warming up and about 1 minute of beginner-friendly choreography that you will be able to pull out for all of your holiday parties this season. (We will not focus on tap tricks and skills) This is an adult class, but 16+ are welcome to attend with parental permission. We have shoes to borrow!

Tamar cultivates a tribal feeling. Warm up together in a circle, starting slow and then building up to a dynamic flow. Work on elements of Floorwork: rolling, sliding, expanding out / folding inwards, using our weight as inspiration and dropping the weight as impetus for movement. Grounding and strengthening exercises in the center and some moving across the floor. Learn how to let go inside movement and still maintain clarity of direction and focus. Play with spiraling in and out of the floor, enjoy off-balance moments and riding on waves of momentum. Working hard but still being efficient with our energy :) We will spend about 20-25 min at the end of class working on our group combo.
